Tony Markl

Post by Robert Szego » Apr 12, 2012, 7:58 pmpm

It is with great pain that I announce the death of Tony Markl; he and his wife Pat were killed in an automobile accident near their home in Marydel, MD.

Tony was a veteran, having flown the AD-1 in Vietnam, was a Pan American Captain, did corporate jet flying, but he was most happy flying his L-16, teaching formation flying, and assisting / training fabric covering projects. He was instrumental in the founding of this Club and spent enormous amounts of time helping us get off the ground at Sun 'n Fun and AirVenture Oshkosh.

A good friend, Tony spoke his mind, never pulled punches, always available for Aeronca talk. Our discussions touched on many subjects both aviation and philosophy, sometimes both.

Requiescat in pace, good friend.
